We’ll read The Owl and Woodpecker (Brian Wildsmith) and explore the sounds and relationships between creatures in our environment. After the story, we will create a creature-full, colorful forest together inspired by Brian Wildsmith’s beautiful mixed-media illustrations. In addition, families will explore and play with a woodsy loose parts making experience.

It starts with a question- what’s a problem you want to solve? Students delve into finding solutions to issues they see in the world. Students then get to work dreaming up and creating solutions out of cardboard. Afterwards, they have the opportunity to hold a Convention and share their creations!

Students create their own additions to an enormous CLAY CITY made from earthen clay, bits of wood and stone, and playful props. As students begin to build pieces for their collective city, themes emerge.

Join us for a joy-filled evening of hands-on making as an intergenerational duo! Construct foldable mini books and fill the pages with mixed media collages using found papers.
