Gear up to explore new ideas and build a one-of-a-kind game from the ground up. In this hands-on camp, you’ll use cardboard, found objects, and all kinds of art materials to invent a totally original game of your own. Create a board game with epic twists, design a fast-paced card game, build a role-playing adventure, or even storyboard the next hit video game—it’s all up to your imagination. Bring your creativity, your curiosity, and maybe a little friendly competition!

What happens when monsters take over summer camp? Come find out in this playful, art-filled adventure! Campers will dream up their own monster characters and dive into messy, colorful projects—creating enormous (and super tiny!) monster portraits, running a deliciously gross “monster café,” and building a giant monster city across the classroom. Together, we’ll roar, giggle, and create as we explore furry, slimy, and feathery monsters through play-based, child-led artmaking.

Let’s turn “garbage” into art! Join us as we turn everyday materials into brand new puppets and companions of your creation. Critters, people, or mythical creatures– the only limit is your imagination! Participants can use storytelling and creative drama to bring their new friend to life.
Cardboard Invention Convention
Participants engage in a design-thinking framework creating cardboard solutions to big & small problems. A performative and engaging "Convention" then occurs where inventors discuss problems & solutions solved with their invention.

Art stations might include color mixing with liquid watercolors, a larger than life vegetable-stamped mural, or a light & shadow screen play environment! Book as a one-time program or recurring series. Indoors or outdoors, weather permitting.

Dive into the mysterious world beneath the waves! In this underwater adventure of art and storytelling, young artists will use upcycled and traditional art materials to create stunning sea landscapes and the fascinating creatures that call them home. Campers will imagine and build an immersive ocean world as well as develop their own sea characters who inhabit the world. Working together, we’ll craft imaginative stories to intertwine our characters and explore the wonders of our planet’s largest ecosystem, bringing the magic of the ocean to life, one creation at a time.

Ever wonder what adventures your favorite stuffed animal goes on when you’re not around? In this playful camp, young artists will bring their beloved stuffies to life through storytelling and performance! Each camper will imagine and craft a unique story for their stuffed friend, then join forces with others to weave their tales together into one shared world. Along the way, campers will create handmade backdrops, props, and costumes—turning imagination into a full-fledged, magical adventure!

Let’s explore the magical and mythical stories of castles and those that live there. Young artists will use upcycled and art materials to build dragons, knights, queens, kings, princes, and princesses- you name it! Together, they’ll create magnificent landscapes and stories of the characters that live there.

Let your imagination take shape! In this playful, hands-on camp, young creators dream up and build forts of all kinds—from cozy blanket hideaways to elaborate outdoor structures. Campers will collaborate to sketch their ideas (underground tunnels, maze forts, tree forts, and more) before bringing them to life using a variety of materials. Together, we’ll explore fort-building in nature, experiment with string and fabric, and even repurpose found objects. Once the forts are complete, campers will invent stories and characters to bring their creations to life—transforming each nook and cranny into a world of adventure.

Pulp Pages
Dive into the universe of papermaking through a hands-on process using repurposed materials! Participants will customize paper pulp with seeds, petals, and dyes and leave with a one-of-a-kind sheet of handmade paper to use, share, or plant in the ground. For all ages, though young children will need assistance from an adult. This program was made possible with Arts & Cultural Heritage Funds from Minnesota's Clean Water, Land, and Legacy Amendment.
