CLAY CITY

If you could build your very own city with others in your community, what would it look like?

Young people and their caregivers get their hands dirty in CLAY CITY! Mold, poke, and build whatever you want to add to an evolving city each participant adds to. Use bits of wood and stone, and playful props to help your ideas come to life.

  • Designed with children 10 and under with adult caregivers in mind, this event is an engaging experience for intergenerational groups of all ages, including early childhood, middle and high schoolers.

    • Engagement time ranges from 5 minutes to multiple hours

    • Average for individual participants- 45 minutes

    • Average for classrooms or groups 60-90 minutes

    • Accommodates up to 28 people at a time, up to 540 people in a day.

  • CLAY CITY participants will:

    • Engage in a tactile making activity

    • Work with others and build community

    • Brainstorm, reflect, and plan for what their city needs to thrive

    • Practice communicating process and vision

    • Use problem solving skills to go from ideation to 3D clay creation

    • Build persistence and creativity when unable to accomplish expected results

  • Ideal for public spaces, like schools, parks, summer camps, and drop-in programs, this event requires:

    • 30' x 20' footprint for setup

    • Hand-washing access

    • 2 Banquet Tables

    • 10-15 chairs

    • Trash can that can hold up to 150 pounds in close proximity

    • If held indoors flooring must be able to be swept & mopped.

    *Set-up includes one 10'x20' tent, signage, 7 worktables, materials, and arranging provided tables and chairs
