CARDBOARD INVENTION CONVENTION
It all starts with a question- what a problem you want to solve?
Participants engage in a design-thinking framework creating cardboard solutions to big & small problems. A performative and engaging "Convention" then occurs where inventors discuss problems & solutions solved with their invention.

Designed with children 10 and under with adult caregivers in mind, this event is an engaging experience for intergenerational groups of all ages, including early childhood, middle and high schoolers.

Engagement time ranges from 5 minutes to multiple hours
Average for individual participants- 45 minutes
Average for classrooms or groups 60-90 minutes
Accommodates up to 28 people at a time, up to 540 people in a day.

Participants will:
Identify a big problem that needs a solution
Use the design process to plan and sketch their prototype
Use STEM thinking to break down steps that make up a complex action of their invention
Build a 3D prototype to demonstrate the actions of their invention
Revise, adapt, and improve invention design with each prototype iteration
Speak about their ideas (problem & the solution) in front of a group

Trash can that can hold up to 150 pounds in close proximity
Set-up includes signage, 7 worktables, materials, and arranging provided tables and chairs
For outdoor events, set up includes a 10'x20' tent
