If you could make your very own color, what would you make?

Participants create custom colors by getting a little messy and blending multiple chalk colors on paper. Each unique color creation gets a name and is added to a hanging color collection mural.

  • Designed with children 10 and under with adult caregivers in mind, this event is an engaging experience for intergenerational groups of all ages, including early childhood, middle and high schoolers.

    • Engagement time ranges from 5 minutes to multiple hours

    • Average for individual participants- 45 minutes

    • Average for classrooms or groups 60-90 minutes

    • Accommodates up to 28 people at a time, up to 540 people in a day.

  • Participants will:

    • Engage and work with others in a shared activity.

    • Practice fine motor skills through drawing and blending chalk.

    • Brainstorm, reflect, and plan for their additions to the mural.

    • Use problem solving skills to create their custom color

    • Gain practical understanding of color theory

    • Persist when unable to accomplish expected results

    • Identify & describe tools and tactics used their making process

    • Practice writing letters and spelling their color names.

    • Can be indoor or outdoor

    • 30' x 20' footprint for setup

    • Hand-washing access

    • 2 Banquet Tables

    • 10-15 chairs

    • Trash and recycling

    • Cleaning supplies

    • Set-up includes signage, 7 worktables, materials, and arranging provided tables and chairs

    • For outdoor events, set up includes a 10'x20' tent
